Music Faculty : Hii Mei Lin
Born in Miri, Sarawak, classical pianist Hii Mei Lin holds a Master of Music Degree and Professional Studies Diploma from the Manhattan School of Music in New York. There she studied with renowned teacher Zenon Fishbein who later appointed her as assistant teacher in his studio. Prior to that, she was a student of Michael Ruiz at the American Conservatory of Music , Chicago where she graduated her Bachelor of Music Degree.

Mei Lin has performed in piano masterclasses with world-renowned pianist-teachers such as Leon Fleisher, Byron Janis, Nina Svetlanova and the late Shura Cherkassky. She also received many valuable lessons from Russian pianist Alexis Golovine while residing in Geneva, Switzerland.

As the winner of 1995 Artists International Competition in New York, Mei Lin made her New York debut recital at Weill Hall in Carnegie Hall to a dazzled audience. In the following year, she was awarded the R. Rubinstein Award for Outstanding Woman Pianist in New York.Other prizes include the Mieczyslaw Munz Award, Leo Heim Piano Memorial Award, 3rd prize at the 1997 Andorra International Piano Competition, 2nd prize for Grace Welsh Piano Competition in Chicago and Albert and Betty Gerard Foundation scholarship.

Her concert appearances include the Trinity Church Noonday Concert Series (N.Y.), Shandalee Music Festival Subscription Concert Series (N.Y.), Steinway Hall, Geneva Music Festival, Auditoire Calvin (Switzerland), Salle des armures of the Geneva Musuem of Art and History, Aimé Césaire concert hall (French Caribbeans), Salle Martin Luther King(France) and No Black Tie (Kuala Lumpur). Sha was also a regular jury member of Le Parnasse music competition in Paris and Aix-les-bains, France.
